The main project activity is the installation of a Knowledge and
Information Manager (KIM). In order to implement a KIM in a region,
in a first step a survey on regional/national/international themes
and actors, etc. will be conducted in order to be able to determine
the future fields of action of the KIM, a certain kind of
networker. Then a pilot application of the KIM will be installed in
four regions, the partners from the other regions will have
consulting tasks.
After the elaboration of joint action plans the managers will
start their work for six months. The tasks of a KIM shall be to
prepare regional/national/international themes for the public, to
assist institutions in forming networks or enter into networks, to
learn and inform on changes in European structural funds, to be
involved in actual daily work of regional development units, to get
experienced through interregional activities in terms of cultural
understanding and multilateral learning and much more to be defined
in the project.
Towards the end of application phase 1 a training tool based on
the needs of the managers will be elaborated, tested by the
managers and reported. Then new action plans will be developed and
application phase 2 (again six months) will take place. Both phases
will be accompanied by an interim and a final evaluation. After
termination of application phase 2 a manual on the “Implementation
of a KIM in a region” will be elaborated and distributed via
website, by means of a final conference, etc.
