Description
Since 1991 the EDFTC is engaged in SME development in the
region. The main activities are: running training and consulting
schemes for small and medium-sized businesses, running a
micro-credit scheme, preparation of development plans and
strategies.
The EDFTC participated in the Phare national SME programme as
part of the national LEA network (one LEA in all 19 counties +
Budapest), implementing training and consulting programmes for
entrepreneurs, information dissemination, business match-making,
micro-crediting, business incubation. Some regional development
projects were initiated on a sectoral basis (e.g. wine-industry,
metal processing industry). One important objective of the LEAs was
the assistance of local businesses for internationalisation of
their businesses, and preparation of them to the EU integration. As
LEA-s during the 10 years of operation got a relevant international
co-operation and experience (Phare programme, CBC), they represent
a major local resource for initiatives involving international
programmes (especially EU funded ones, like Interreg, Socrates,
Equal, etc.).
Major projects of the EDFTC during the last years:
- Phare: Consultancy and Training Programme for Small and
Medium-sized Enterprises located in the Southern Transdanubian
Region – 2000-2001. Role: Project management (team leader),
responsible for the implementation of the whole project
- Consulting programmes for SME-s – financed by Phare (2001),
Ministry of Economy (2002-03), ERDF (2004).
- “WINEPLAN” – Funded by Interreg IIIC, 2004-2006, Lead Partner:
Province of Forli-Cesena. The aim is to elaborate a viable
wine-region development strategy for the Szekszárd Wine Region
area.
- I2-Net: Interregional Internationalisation Network,
preparatory project concerning impacts of enlargement in border
regions, project partner, supporting SMEs in their
internationalisation, 2004 – 2006.
